The Hermit

The Hermit is the 9th card in the major arcana. There are many ideas associated with this card. Isolation is suggested by the lone, grey cloaked figure. He carries a lamp in one hand and a staff in the other. This is how it is represented in most decks.

Introspection, Silence, Guidance, Reflection, Solitude, Looking Inward, Reclusion, Being Quiet, Inner Search, Deep Understanding, Isolation, Distance, Retreat, Philosophical Attitude.

There are different ways to interpret this card. It can suggest a need to withdraw from our social lives. It can be that you need to spend time learning from yourself. It can also suggest that you have spent some time alone and have knowledge to share.

This card can also suggest the appearance of a older and wiser person in our lives. This would be somebody with a lot of experience which we can learn from. The hermit integrates knowledge gained in the outer world. He applies this knowledge to himself in order to grow.

Temperance

The temperance card is the 14th card of the Major Arcana. I have been using this card recently in my meditations. This card is said to help a person become more moderate. This card is associated with the 25th path in Kabbalistic Pathworking. There are many concepts related to this card.
